Support OPPORTUNITIES-PA and Our RESIDENTS
Volunteer Opportunities
OPPORTUNITIES-PA relies on the support and commitment of volunteers to accomplish our mission and increase our impact. With your support we can hire staff, obtain meeting space, and provide rent stipends for our students to continue their education goals and reach their career aspirations.
You can support OPPORTUNITIES-PA by:
· Tutoring/mentoring a student
· Joining a board committee
· Sponsoring or hosting a fundraiser event
· Becoming a Champion of OPPORTUNITIES
· Endorsing the organization by sending a letter or email to friends encouraging their support
· Being our advocate by directing us to resources that can benefit our clients
· Adopting a student

Adopt-A-Student Project
The Adopt-a-Student Project provides students with furniture and school materials before they begin their first semester in college. By adopting a student, you reward and encourage a formerly homeless teen to continue his or her journey to become independent and attain a college degree.
You can adopt a student by providing:
In-kind donation
· School Supplies: printing paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, calculators, laptop bag or back pack for adult
· Bedroom: bed, mattress and box spring, dresser, end table, lamp, blanket, pillow, pillow case, or alarm clock
· Living Room: sofa, coffee and end tables, two table lamps, or curtains
· Kitchen: table and chairs, microwave, eating ware, drinking glasses,ironing board and iron, or broom and mop
· Study Area: desk, chair, or bookcase
· Bathroom: shower curtains, rugs, trash can, or soap dispenser
Monetary donation
· $50 will purchase school supplies for first semester in college
· $100 will purchase food for first month in apartment
· $500 will provide a textbook scholarship
· $1000 will pay first month rent and utilities
· $5,000 will provide tuition scholarship for one semester
· $10,000 will cover one staff member salary for four months

Financial support is also needed to maintain the daily expenses of providing housing, meals, and other services to OPPORTUNITIES-PA residents. Monetary donations to OPPORTUNITIES-PA are fully tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
